Join us to kick off the 2018/2019 Season of Cliff Bungalow Wednesday Night Jazz Series!

Foon Yap CD RELEASE-with Hermitess

Join me in celebrating the CD release of "Palimpsest" with Foon Yap, where I'll be singing with HERMITESS (Jennifer Crighton).

Special Calgary early release of FOONYAP's long-awaited record 'Palimpsest', due Oct 21 worldwide.

Limited seating available - call for reservations 403 269 5581

FOONYAP // A “palimpsest” is a manuscript in which traces of the original can still be found – FOONYAP’s latest album is a raw and unguarded reflection of her tumultuous journey to self-discovery. A hauntingly beautiful blend of folk and electronic that incorporates her Chinese heritage, each song captures various components of her past and present realities.

http://foonyap.com/

The Hermitess // The Hermitess is the solo project of songwriter and harpist Jennifer Crighton, who comes by way of various other musical incarnations, including The Consonant C and Devonian Gardens. Stripping back the performance to a harp and a circle of women's voices, the Hermitess is an inquisitive, contrary, wounded, wise and ever dreaming incantation.

Songs for Gracie-A Fundraiser

Songs for Gracie

Gracie (mother of three wonderful children- Lyndon, Tristan, and Alicyn) was diagnosed in October 2010 with colon cancer. Surgery and chemotherapy followed until August 2011, when she decided to go ahead with the Sugarbaker procedure. In April 2015, there was further cancer diagnosis. She has undergone radiation and is currently undergoing more chemotherapy.

We'd like to raise money for Gracie and her family to not only support them in this difficult time, but also to fund alternative treatment at Pyatt Health Centre in Calgary. If enough money were raised, there would also be the opportunity to be part of an experimental treatment from the States.

The concert will take place on Saturday March 5th, 2016 at Hillhurst United Church in Kensington. It will feature performances from Gracie's three children (Tristan Campbell, Alicyn Campbell, and Lyndon Campbell), as well as 2016 Juno-nominee Al Muirhead, jazz songstress Aimee-Jo Benoit, Jory Kinjo and more.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30. All proceeds will go to Gracie and her family.
